About
Brooklyn-born Robert Lukowski photographs with a sculptural eye. Schooled first in painting and drawing, Rob gravitated toward the more physical processes involved in creating art including wood carving, glass-blowing, and stone lithography. A few classes in traditional darkroom techniques brought him ultimately to image capture, and a camera that has never strayed far from hand since.
Whether working in the studio for product and model photography, capturing an intimate moment, or catching the light on a wintry twilit pond, Rob brings a quirky originality of vision to every project.
“The whole point of taking pictures is so that you don’t have to explain things with words.”
— Elliott Erwit
